This sculpture is a reworked version of Mon Ami, a original sculpture released in 2008. Some of the changes include: front leg move forward, shoulder moved forward, neck moved/reworked, head moved, mouth opened, teeth added, and new mane and tail. The base is a thin unfinished piece of wood which hides easily under sand or grass for realistic photo showing. The model itself is rotocast, with wire reinforcement. All reworked areas are solid, so in weight it can feel like a solid cast piece.
This art piece is inspired by Del Magico, a Hanoverian stallion, who back in 2012 was the top scoring stallion at the Austrian inspections. He’s a snowflake slate dapple grey with roaning hairs and a little chrome. Light pink hooves, and a marbled mane and tail. This guy is dripping in details and color depth. Each roaning hair was etched into the paintwork which was completed in acrylic and soft pastels. A nice smooth matte finish with glossy eyes make this guy is a stand out. I would expect him to show very well or be a unique piece to add to your collection, especially because there is only one of these in existence.
